What is RevOps?
Definition
What is RevOps?
RevOps, or revenue operations, is the system of process, data, tooling, reporting, and operating cadence that lets a company inspect and improve revenue work. Good RevOps makes pipeline, conversion, ownership, and forecast visible enough for leaders to act.
Operating context
RevOps, n.
RevOps is often mistaken for CRM administration. CRM is only the instrument panel. RevOps defines what the instrument panel should measure, who owns the inputs, and how the company uses the data in decisions.
In B2B SaaS, RevOps usually spans marketing operations, sales operations, customer handoffs, source attribution, pipeline stages, dashboards, and management cadence.
Signals
When this term matters
- Leaders do not trust the CRM.
- Pipeline stages mean different things to different people.
- Revenue meetings produce arguments about data instead of decisions.
